Bessie Johnson Hyde, of Elkader, died Saturday evening, July 28th, at the home of her mother, Mrs. Sarah Johnson, at Wadena. She had gone there for a visit about a week ago. Bessie Johnson was born in Norway Sept. 28th, 1872, coming to this country with her parents. On October 19, 1892, she was married to James Hyde, and for several years past they have resided at Elkader. For the past two years Mrs. Hyde has been in poor health. She leaves a devoted husband and two sons, aged 13 and 10 years. The funeral was held Monday at the Union church in Illyria, Rev. Jap Moore officiating. Although not entirely unexpected, her demise was a sad parting for the family.

Mrs. J. Hyde, of Elkader, died on Saturday evening at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. Killerlain. She had come for a visit with her sister and mother when she was called to her eternal home. She leaves a husband, two sons, a mother, one sister and four brothers to mourn her loss. Funeral services were conducted Monday by Rev. Moore at the J. Killerlain home and the remains were laid to rest in the Leo* cemetery.
