Elkader Register, Thur., 26 July 1906.
Tuesday morning a sad accident occurred on the farm of Lars H. Larson, in Highland twp., by which Charles B. Anderson, aged 15 years, the son of Mrs. Andrew Anderson, lost his life. The boy had gone to work the day previous for Mr. Larson. That morning he was mowing with the machine, and not appearing at the time those in the field thought he should, search was made for him.
His dead body was found underneath or between the mower and horses. It is supposed that having the reins about his body he was thrown backwards off the machine, the reins pulling the horses, who backed the machine over his breast, receiving internal injuries which killed him. The funeral was held yesterday at the Norway church. We understand he is survived by a widowed mother and an older brother. The sympathy of the community goes out to them.
