Smith, Freddy died 1873

Died. On Thursday morning, of dropsy, Freddy, only son of Frederick Smith, aged 5 years and 13 days.

Last February Freddy was visited with an attack of the cerebro spinal meningitis, but recovered somewhat, although deprived of his hearing. The disease terminated in dropsy, causing his death.

Rev. Mr. Westwood officiated at the funeral on Friday, and a large concourse of friends of the family were in attendance.

"Bright eyes closed, their last slumber,
Dimpled hands across the breast,
Sleeping soundly, never waking,
Little Fred has gone to rest.

'Neath the care of guardian angels -
Now from pain and suffering free,
Taken to that blissful haven,
All its glories there to see."
