Peter S. Johnson was born to Mr. and Mrs. Nils O. Johnson May 14, 1892 at Estherville, Iowa. As a child he was brought to the Lord in Holy Baptism administered by Rev. H. Engh of the Estherville Lutheran Church. He attended the public schools of this city, completing the 8th grade. He was confirmed by Rev. T.C. Thompson November 3, 1907.

In January 1914 he was united in marriage to Amanda S. Schraeder of Monona, Iowa. Two children were born to them, a son and a daughter. The boy died at the age of two years. Mrs. Johnson passed away in February, 1930.

Mr. Johnson was an electrician by trade and for the last three years employed by the city of Estherville. He became sick last month. He received treatment at Iowa City but it developed that he was afflicted with the dread malady, Bright's disease, and it was evident he could not recover. The end came Sunday evening August 26th at 11 o'clock.

He leaves his aged mother, Mrs. Bertha Johnson, and the one daughter, Rachael, wife of Lloyd Zeimer, of Dunnell, Minn. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 28, from Sternberg's and the Estherville Lutheran church. Rev. L.A. Mathre officiating. Interment was beside his wife and son at Monona, Iowa.

Note: The date of this obituary was confirmed by the contributor. Mr. Johnson's gravestone in the Monona cemetery is engraved with the year of death 1936, which is not correct. His son's name was Raymond.
