MRS. STRETCH DIES SEPT. 28

Memorial services were held at the Tuecke funeral chapel Monday evening by the local chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for Mrs. Matilda D. Stretch, who died September 28 at a Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, nursing home following a long illness.

The body will be interred here following cremation.

Mattie Jacobs Stretch, 86, was born June 19, 1882, in Guttenberg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jacobs. She attended the Guttenberg schools and later was married to William A. Stretch of Chicago, where Mrs. Stretch had lived for more than 50 years. Following her retirement from office work in that city, she moved to Spokane, Washington, to make her home until returning to Guttenberg in 1966.

Surviving Mrs. Stretch is one sister, Mrs. Addie Bayman of Guttenberg. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Stretch died in May of 1945.
