He was born on the Boleyn homestead near Volga City in 1891 and there grew to manhood, assisting his father with the shipping business. After the death of his father he managed the home farm.

He was a faithful member of Elkader Lodge No. 72 A.F. & A.M. of Elkader and also the Order of the eastern Star; he also held membership in the Odd Fellow Lodge at Arlington.

He is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Maggie Boleyn, one brother and two sisters besides many friends who mourn his early passing.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at Volga City at 1:30 p.m. at the house and at 2:00 o'clock at the Methodist church. Rev. Wm. R. Smith officiating. Masonic services were held in the church and at the grave conducted by H.D Brown. The Masonic Order of which the deceased was a member since 1917 attended the funeral in a body, also the Order of the Eastern Star.

He was a man of many admirable qualities and he was loved and highly esteemed by his neighbors and many friends. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved mother, sisters and brother.
