From the Thurs., 14 June 1934 issue, “Clayton County Register” (Elkader, IA), Farmersburg section, page 6, column 6:

Ferdinand Fredrick Muller

Ferdinand Fredrick Muller, son of William and Wilhelmina Muller, died Wednesday morning in his home at Farmersburg at 63 years of age. He was born in Germany, January 9, 1871. At the age of 3 years he journied form Germany with his parents and made his home with them in Monona township. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, which faith he held unto his end.

On October 4, 1908 [sic], he was united in marriage to Anna Doering [sic]. This union was blessed with two children. Until fourteen years ago Mr. Muller lived on a farm in Monona township. Then he retired and moved to Farmersburg.

About two years ago he took sick with diabetes and has since been in failing health. On Monday morning June 4th, he suffered a stroke leaving him paralyzed and only partly conscious. His relief came from this and other suffering when God called him home on Wednesday morning at 6:20.

This fond husband and loving father leaves to mourn his bereaved wife and two children, John residing in Monona township and Edna at home. Also two grandchildren, LaVonne and John Henry. He also leaves to mourn two brothers William of Monona and John of Rapid City, S. Dak., also a host of relative and friends.

That transcription gives his name as Ferdinand Mueller and hers as Anna Dolhring. They are also enumerated together in the 1900 census in Monona Twp., Clayton County, Iowa, married one year, his name as Ferdinand Mueller.]
