John Muller
MONONA: John A. Muller, a former resident of Monona, passed away June 4 in Longview, Wash., after a long illness. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. William (Wilhelmine Bruncke, of Germany) Muller in 1883 in Monona. He attended Luther College in Decorah.
Mr. Muller moved to Plankinton, S.D. in 1927 where he was in the paint contracting business. In 1947, he and his wife, Bertha, moved to Longview, Wash., residing there until his death.
He was a member of the Plankinton Lodge No. 61 A.F. & A.M. and was master of that lodge in 1923. He and his wife were members of the Order of Eastern Star No. 30 of Plankinton, S.D., and of Trinity Lutheran Church of Longview, Wash.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Arthur Wulf, Longview, and the Kelso Lodge No. 94 A.F. & A.M. in Longview. Graveside rites were conducted by Elder Bylander, past master of the Adelphic Lodge No. 509 A.F. & A.M., Des Moines, Iowa. Interment was in the Glendale Masonic Cemetery, Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha F., Longview, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Truman (Ruth) Houk, Rapid City, S.D., Mrs. Tom H. (Gayle) Bachman, Des Moines, and Mrs. Harold E. (Phyllis) McKibben, Sparks, Nev.; two sons, Lloyd J., St. Helens, Ore., and Raymond L., Van Nuys, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
