Elkader Register, Thur., 29 Mar. 1906. St. Olaf column.
At her home west of town, Wednesday afternoon, occurred the death of Mrs. Jacob Larson, aged forty-three years. Everything that medical skill could perform or loving hands could suggest was done to restore her, but all in vain. Death claimed her as his own. Her life was one of devotion to her family and they will mourn the absence of a loving mother, whose reward came to her by our Almighty Father who doeth all things both wisely and well. God has need of our loved ones, they form the ties which fix our thoughts on heaven for where our treasure is, there will our hearts be also. She had many friends and her passing away is a sad trial to her devoted husband and children. Surviving her are her husband and six children, her aged parents, five brothers and one sister. The funeral was held at the home, Saturday, conducted by Rev. Arveson, and she was laid to rest in the Norway cemetery.
She suffered and murmured not,
We watched her day by day,
Until her fluttering spirit
Passed gently away.
Weep not for me,
I'm free from pain.
My earthly suffering is o'er.
I hope to meet you all again
On a peaceful, happy shore.(Note: WPA records indicate this article refers to Gunhild Larson.)
