Elkader Register, Thur., 22 Mar. 1906. Luana column.
The funeral of John Komine last Wednesday taxed the large Methodist church to its capacity. Many people were present from adjoining towns and some from a distance. Mr. Komine was a great lover of flowers and his casket was covered with beautiful white carnations, calla lilies and others. Rev. Paulson conducted the services and was visibly affected as well as the majority of the congregation. Mr. Komine had a host of friends and no enemies as far as the writer knows. The burial was in the Luana cemetery. Mrs. Komine is left alone in her home, the children being in homes of their own.
