Died, Saturday evening Jan. 6th, Christina, the beloved wife of Gordon R. Tanner. The cause of her death was heart disease, from which she had been suffering from for some time. Deceased was born Oct. 26th, 1873, at North McGregor and lived here during her childhood days, when the family moved to Volney, where, on Sept. 16, 1897, she was united in marriage to Gordon R. Tanner, a conductor on the Dubuque Division. One child, a son, aged five years, with the devoted husband, mourn the loss that is irreparable. The funeral services were held at Monona, Tuesday morning, at the M.E. church. Rev. V. E. Hall, of McGregor, preaching the services, assisted by Rev. Williams, the pastor. Her relatives, Mrs. Bratsberg, her mother, Mrs. Parrott, Louis Bratsberg, of Woon Socket, S.D., Mrs. Tangeman, of Beaver Creek, Minn., John Bratsburg, of Ellsworth, Minn., were here at the services.
