Elkader Register, Fri., 30 Nov. 1883.

On Tuesday morning, at her residence in Highland township, occurred the death of Mrs. Jeremiah Feeney, after a long and painful sickness, aged 53 years. Mrs. Feeney was one of the early residents of this county, having come here with her husband some 27 years ago. For a number of years they resided at Volga City, and afterwards removed to a farm in Highland township. She was a very estimable lady, and had a very large circle of friends who will sincerely mourn the death of a kind friend and neighbor. She leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss. The funeral occurred yesterday, her remains being followed to their last resting place in the Catholic cemetery at this place, by a large number of friends and relatives. May she rest in peace.

Burial is in St. Joseph's cemetery, Elkader. Her maiden name is given in the obit of her husband Jeremiah 'Jerry' Feeney; the names of their children and more info. than in the brief death notice. (Mr. Feeney's obit is also posted).
