Tuesday Rites For Former Point Woman, Deva Coykendall

STRAWBERRY POINT (Special)—Graveside services for Miss Deva W. Coykendall, 79, former Strawberry Point resident, were held at Strawberry Point cemetery Tuesday afternoon, April 11. Miss Coykendall died Monday, April 3, at Long Beach, Calif., where she has lived for the part 23 years.

The deceased was born in Clayton County July 10, 1881, the daughter of Moses C. and Mary E. Cole Coykendall. She graduated from the Finley Hospital School of Nursing in Dubuque and was employed as a registered nurse until her retirement. She lived for a time in Cedar Rapids before moving to California.

Survivors include her sister, Miss Ula M. Coykendall, also of Long Beach, and two nieces, Mrs. Howard B. Young and Miss Mary E. Kehoe, both of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
