Services were held Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, 1958, at 10:00 a.m. from the Bethel church, Osterdock, for Mrs. Kate Palmer, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer, Peace United Church of Christ Evangelical and Reformed, Elkader, officiating. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery, Osterdock.

Pallbearers were: Dale Hansel, Carter Smith, Art Stienfadt and John L. Costigan.

Mrs. Palmer was born at Colesburg, Iowa, September 11, 1863 and died at the home of her daughter in Benton Harbor, Michigan, November 30, 1958.

Kate Mallory was married to John L. Palmer September 10, 1882, and lived on a farm near Osterdock until December 1918, when the family moved to Spring Valley, Wis., where she resided until August 1958.

To this union eight children were born. Her husband and four children preceded her in death. Surviving are Ray, of Minneapolis Minn.; Gus, of Spring Valley, Wis.; Edna Thompson, of Benton Harbor, Mich.; Howard, of Decatur, Miss. and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She belonged to the Congregational Church of Spring Valley and was also a member of the Eastern Star.
