Burial services for Mrs. Elsa Ward Meyer were held in Waterloo, Tuesday morning at 10:30, August 22. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Elsa Noble, daughter of Harrison and Rosanna Noble, was born on March 6, 1861 at Edgewood, Iowa, where she attended school. She also received part of her education at Fayette. For several years she was a teacher in rural schools in Clayton County.

On April 26, 1884 she was united in marriage to George L. Ward of Strawberry Point by Rev. Lockwood, pastor of the Methodist Church. To their marriage three sons were born; one passed away in infancy, and Wayne at the age of 12 years. For 35 years Mr. Ward was an employee of the Illinois Central Railroad, much of that time as a passenger conductor. Mr. Ward passed away April 10, 1917.

On January 22, 1921 she was married to S.K. Meyer of Manchester and for the past 20 years her home had been in Long Beach, California. Mr. Meyer passed away in August, 1929.

For the past six years Mrs. Meyer had been confined to her bed with a heart aliment. She had been in the hospital much of the time since March when she had fallen and suffered a broken hip.
Surviving is one son, G.L. Ward of Edgewood; one brother, J.W. Noble of Long Beach, Cali.; one sister-in law, Mrs. Nellie Noble, Edgewood, and several nieces and nephews in Long Beach and in Minnesota.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her two children, two brothers, E.L. Noble, Edgewood, Merrill Noble, Minnesota and one sister, Mrs. Nora Mellett, Long Beach, Cali.
She was for many years a member of Grace Methodist Church in Waterloo. The funeral services were held in Long Beach.
