It is with a sad heart with which we sit down to chronicle the passing events in our little city during the past week. Since our last letter the angel of death has again entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hawthorne, and taken therefrom a bright and shining flower, their second daughter, Addie, having died of diphtheria, on the 15th inst., at the age of four years and six months. She was a sweet little child, greatly beloved by all who knew her, but she has gone to that land which is "fairer than day," there to join her little brother, who preceded her only a few days. The bereaved family are remembered with tenderest sympathy by all who know them.
