The 17-year-old son of E. E. Lansguard, who resides about 4 miles east of this city, died from an attack of scarlet fever. The funeral was held Monday.

Elkader Register, Thur., 24 Dec. 1903. Elgin column. From the Elgin Echo, undated.

Note: burial is in Marion Lutheran cemetery, Gunder; surname spelling on gravestone is "Landsgaard"
