Mrs. Charles Meyer passed away at her farm home in Jefferson township on Friday morning at 12:30 o'clock at the age of 67 years, seven months and four days, following a long illness. Mrs. Meyer's maiden name was Minnie Holtz. She was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, on July 3, 1868. On February 11, 1886, she was married at Guttenberg to Mr. Charles Meyer. After their marriage the couple settled on a farm in this township. She is survived by her husband, five sons, Arthur Meyer of near Colesburg, Henry Meyer of Guttenberg, Ben and Ewald Meyer of Jefferson township, and Charles Meyer, Jr., of Clayton township; three daughters, Mrs. Yetta Frye of Jefferson township, Mrs. Albert Alt of Clayton township, and Mrs. Otto Meisner of Zwingle; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. William Lindroth of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. David Brown, of Sheffield; one brother, Henry Holtz, of Guttenberg, and other relatives. Two sons and two daughters have preceded the mother in death. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. J. F. Adix at St. John's American Lutheran church in Guttenberg Tuesday afternoon, with interment in the city cemetery.
