Elkader Register, Thur., 17 Dec. 1903. Local News column. From the Clayton County Journal, undated.

The two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vogt, died Monday after a brief but painful sickness with membraneous croup and was buried the same afternoon. The family are now quarantined and Mrs. Vogt is quite ill, so much so that she has been compelled to take to her bed. - Clayton County Journal. The many friends of Mr. Vogt will deeply sympathize with him in his trouble.
