FRANCES KAHLER
Francis M (Sautter) Kahler 79, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital following a short battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 30, 1924 to William and Gladys Sautter in Giard Township, Iowa. Frances lived in several areas during her life and most recently Mauston, where she and her husband Robert Kahler resided for the last 20 years.

She worked all her life in various manufacturing jobs such as McGregor Loud Speaker, Burgess Cellulose and Mauston Plating.

She is survived by two sons; Wayne (Sue) Hendrix of San Bernadino, Calif. and Steve (Shirley) Hendrix of Prairie du Chien; a sister Elizabeth; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters in law; Violet Anderson of Elgin, Iowa and Doroty Dallman of Altoona, Iowa; a niece and four nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert who passed away on Dec. 31, 2003, three brothers; John (Jake), Fred, and Charlie Sautter and a sister Winnefred.

Funeral services were Monday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at St Peter Lutheran Church, Rev Paul Graham officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. The Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien assisted the family. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospice Program.
