Elkader Register, Thur., 3 Sept. 1903. Strawberry Point column.

The death of Vic Gifford occurred at his home last Friday. He had not been well for a number of years. Last Friday he went out to water his horses and when the family found him his head was in the water tank and life was extinct. His friends were sorry to hear of his sudden death. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his death. Funeral services occurred at the home Sunday, Rev. DePuy officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the local cemetery. The R.N.A., of which he was a member, marched in a body to the burial place.
