Elkader Register, Thur., 7 May 1903. Strawberry Point column.

Mrs. Bertha Kluge, daughter of Ludwig and Henrietta Wenske, was born Sept. 12th, 1863 in Rugalwalde, East Prussia, Germany. In 1877 she came with her parents to this country. Sept. 14th, 1882, she was married to Frank Kluge, who died Nov. 16, 1890. After marriage she lived first at Manchester, then at Cedar Falls, Davenport, Rock Island and Moline. Lately she lived either at Manchester or visited with relatives in the vicinity. She had always been troubled with sickness, but the immediate cause of her death was cancer of the liver. She died at the home of her parents last Thursday, April 30, 1903. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 o'clock, Rev. G. Graf officiating. She leaves one son, Harry, a sister and her parents to mourn her death.
