Died on Wednesday, July 30th, at his home in Garnavillo, Andreas Pupke, aged 83 years.

Deceased was born in Freileben, Aubalt-Dessau, Germany, April 12th, 1807. He was married to Marie Groth, by whom seven children were born, four of whom are dead, and the mother died in 1852.

After a few years he married Maria Elizabeth Butts, by whom four children were born, one of whom, a son, died in 1873. For thirty-seven years he lived with her, she dying in 1889.

In 1850 he emigrated to his country, and for sixteen years has lived in Garnavillo, the last twelve years in total blindness.

His remains were buried at the Garnavillo cemetery, followed by a large circle of friends and relatives, among whom were six children, sixteen grand children and eight great grand children.
