Elkader Argus, Wed., 11 Feb. 1903.

At his home in Boardman township on Sunday, Feb. 8th, occurred the death of John Stahl, a long-time resident of the township. Mr. Stahl was born in 1834 at Pribbenow, Mecklenberg-Schwerin.

He came to America in 1858 settling on the farm in this township where he has ever since lived. He was married Dec. 3rd, 1860, to Mary Heiden, twelve children were born to them of whom the following are living: August and George, of Fenton, Ia.; Mrs. Minnie Lendman, Oelwein; Mrs. Wm. Behrens, Littleport; Mary, Chas. and John at home and Fred of Osborne. Mr. Stahl was a good citizen, one who had the respect of all his neighbors. The funeral was held at Mederville to-day, Rev. G. W. Baxter officiating.
