NIEMANN, BRANDT, OVERBECK

Died on Sunday, June 22d, 1890, at his home in Garnavillo, Mr. H. H. Niemann, at the advanced age of 89 years.
The deceased has been in a feeble condition for a number of years, the last of which was spent in almost total blindness.
He was born in Hanover, Germany, March 27th, 1801, emigrated to this country in 1853, locating in this county, in which he lived ever since.
Besides an aged widow, two children survive him of which Mr. Gerhard Niemann occupies a large farm in Jefferson and a daughter Mrs. Henry Brandt, is the wife of a prominent member of the board of trustees.
His remains were buried at Ceres on Tuesday, Rev. Sommerlad preached a sermon at the house, while Rev. Zeimer officiated at the grave.
Elkader Register: June 26, 1890
Buried: Ceres Cemetery, Garnavillo
Wife: Maria Engel (Overbeck) Niemann died in 1909
They are both buried in Lot 2
