Telmer G. Olson, 91, of Monona, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Home in Waukon. Telmer was born August 4, 1917, on the family farm near Gunder to Ole and Margit (Landsgaard) Olson. He attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Postville High School, Postville.
Telmer was united in marriage to May Eno at the Lutheran Church in Maquoketa July 19, 1958. Telmer owned and operated Telmer Olson Electronics for over 50 years. He enjoyed collecting firearms and gas engines. He enjoyed talking with people on amateur radio, cameras and attending auctions. Telmer and May enjoyed taking care of their three cats, Princess, Kit Kat and Blondie.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife May Olson of Monona; three sisters-in-law, Donna Mae Olson, West Union, Deloris Olson, Postville, Doris Olson, Green Bay, WI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Telmer was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Selina Embretson, and three brothers, Olvin, Harry and Milton Olson.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, April 18, 2009, at Leonard Funeral Home in Monona. The Rev. Marshall Hahn officiated, and burial followed at the Marion Lutheran Cemetery, Gunder.
