Harold Jay Kiple, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Kiple, died on January 9, 1975, and services were held at Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa, on January 11, with burial in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery.
Harold (or "Dick" as most people knew him) was born in Elgin, Iowa, on October 17, 1907, and spent his youth in and around Elgin, where he attended school and graduated from Elgin High School in 1925.
In 1929 he was united in marriage with Ada Eggers and they spent most of their married life in Farmersburg, where Dick was a rural mail carrier and as an avocation built himself a reputation as one of the leading antique dealers in the area.
He was a Mason and a veteran of World War II. Both organizations participated in the Memorial Services.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lola, and brother, LaVerne. Beside his wife, Ada, he is survived by his brothers, Frank of Kimberling City, Missouri, and Clifton of Ottumwa, Iowa, and a number of nephews and nieces including Mrs. Darlene Shaffer of Elgin.
