McGregor- William L. Mead, 50, a retired Air Force sergeant, died Monday morning in the Riverview Care Center at Guttenberg, Ia. after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Congregational Church here. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the McGregor American Legion Post. Friends may call at the Thornburg Funeral Home here.

Surviving are two sons, William Lyle and David Michael, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Redena Mead of McGregor; three sisters, Mrs. Roger (Mary) Oelke of West Bend, Wis., Mrs. John (Nancy) Cullen of Cresco, Ia., and Mrs. Lane (Sharon) Severson of Postville, Ia.
