MRS. ANNA DAHLSTROM

Mrs. Anna Sophie Marie Dahlstrom was born October 8, 1893, in Giard township, Clayton County, Iowa. When she was about two years old she was baptized in the Methodist church at Monona. When she reached the proper age she attended both public and religious school. On April 21, 1908, she was received as a communicant member of the Lutheran church through the rite of confirmation. This rite was performed by the Rev. F. Gadow here in our St. John Lutheran church of Farmersburg.

On October 8, 1918, she was united in marriage to Wm. Heins. They made their home in Postville until the death of her husband that same year, on December 16, 1918. In April 1919, she was united in marriage to Wm. Dahlstrom. They made their home in Luana until her husband’s death in 1930. Since that time she made her home with her mother in Farmersburg.

Mrs. Dahlstrom took sick on Friday, June 24. She was taken to the hospital at Prairie du Chien, Wis., Thursday, June 30. She underwent an operation at the hospital Saturday, July 2. She never rallied from the operation and died at 12:45 last Saturday at the age of 61 years, 8 months and 24 days.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Louise Fredericks [sic], one step-sister, Mrs. George Schmidt, uncles and aunts and other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 5, 1955, at 1:00 p.m. from the home, and 1:30 at St. John Lutheran church at Farmersburg.

[TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE: Her mother’s maiden name was Gilster, and Mrs. George Schmidt (nee Elnora Frederick) was her half-sister, not her step-sister.]
