Elkader Register, Fri., 7 Oct. 1881. Elkport Locals column.
Died.- At the home of C. Roeder, Elkport, Iowa, Sept. 29th, 1881, of bilious fever, John George Bolinger; aged 61 years, 8 months and 15 days. Mr. Bolinger was born in Birringen, Switzerland, and emigrated to this country in 1856; he first settled in Dubuque, but for the past ten years, has made his home in Elkport, at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. Roeder. Mr. Bolinger was a man highly respected for his many good qualities of honor, and who it would do to trust. His wife died in the old country, before he emigrated to America. He leaves two grown up children, one of whom is Mrs. Conrad Roeder, of this place, and the other lives in Chicago. The relations have the sympathy of a large circle of friends, who mourn with them in their sad bereavement. The remains were encased in a beautiful casket and placed to rest in Hall's graveyard, a large number following them to their last resting place, Rev. Seifert, of Clayton Center, officiating. A good and noble man has gone to the long home from whence no traveler returns.
