Funeral services for Leslie "Earl" Miller, 81, were held Friday, July 5, 1996, at St. John Lutheran Church, Guttenberg. Pastor Harold McMillin officiated the service with burial in Guttenberg City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Lowell, Delos Weseman, Merlin Torrey and Larkin Rutledge.

Leslie "Earl" Miller was born January 10, 1915, on the family farm near Millville, Iowa, the son of Herman and Myrtle (Ferris) Miller. Earl graduated from the Westbend, Iowa, High School; served his country in the United States Army during World War II and Korean Conflict and drove truck for many years. On July 7, 1962, he was united in marriage with Barbara Eaton in Tijuana, Mexico. Leslie Miller died Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at the Guttenberg Care Center.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Keith Miller of Long Beach, Calif.; and a daughter, Mrs. Leslie Gurley of Downey, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
