Funeral services were held for Clarion Ernestine Mueller, 77, Thursday, March 10, 1994, at Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader. Rev. Lance A. Bentley officiated the service with burial in Eastside Cemetery, Elkader. Pallbearers were John Klosterboer, Jim Klosterboer, John Fuelling, Mike Knapp, Warren Mueller and Ronald Mueller.

Clarion Eernestine (Walter) Mueller, daughter of Clara (Henkes) and Ernie Walter, was born March 21, 1916, at Farmersburg, Iowa. She was baptized as an infant at Postville, and in 1937 affirmed her baptismal faith in confirmation at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg. She attended Farmersburg Public School and Iowa State Teachers' College at Cedar Falls, after which she taught school for several years. She was united in marriage to MaLloyd Mueller July 1, 1939. Two children joined this union - Thomas and Tamarah. The couple became members of Peace United Church of Christ in 1948. She retired in 1981 as a secretary of Central Community Schools in Elkader. Clarion remained active in her church as a member of Rebekah Circle and Women's Guild. She was also a member of Central Community Hospital Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women, Four Oaks Country Club, and P.E.O. Clarion Mueller died Monday, March 7, 1994.

Survivors include her husband, MaLloyd; son Tom of Omaha; daughter Tammy of Omaha; grandson Nathan; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy (LeRoy) Schmidt of Waukon; and Mrs. Florene (Edward) Klosterboer of Decorah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Eugene, Victor and Maloy; and one sister, Phyllis.

Note: A card of thanks "during the loss of our wife, mother and grandmother" is signed by MaLloyd, Tammy, Tom, Carol and Nathan.
