Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred (Ethel) Penhollow, 78, will be conducted by the Rev. Fred Richardson, pastor of the United Methodist Church, at the Tuecke-Allenstein Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Penhollow died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, May 5, at University Hospital in Iowa City following a lingering illness.
Burial will be in Mount Harmony Cemetery at Elkport with the following pallbearers: Walter Miller, Duwane Hagen, Jim Jacobs, Ed Benstine, Chris Pierce and Otto Pensel.
Mrs. Penhollow was born January 28, 1897, in Osterdock, a daughter of Phillip and Lillian Dinges Hansel. She was married in Guttenberg on September 16, 1916, to Alfred G. Penhollow, who survives.
Surviving besides her husband are a son, Eugene "Red" Penhollow, and a daughter, Mrs. Oran (Marion) Benskin, both of Guttenberg; three sisters, Mrs. Carmi (Pearl) Belden of Volga City, Mrs. Clinton (Jessie) Funk of Garber, and Mrs. Raymond (Josephine) Handke of Guttenberg; five brothers, Ralph Hansel of Volga City, Adam Hansel of Edgewood, Irvin Hansel of Marion, Bert Hansel of Hazel Green, Wis., and Lawrence Hansel of Cedar Rapids.
