Mrs. Leonette C. Duwe, 68, of Guttenberg died at 7:51 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 1984 at the home of her dsughter, Mrs. Philip Lockhart in Asbury, after a lengthy illness.
Services are to be conducted by Monsignor Donald Sweeney at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jim, Bob, Bill and Gary Frommelt, Danny Bahls, Nick Luft and Carl Becker. Honorary pallbearers are Eunice Vorwald, Paulette Groth, Tille Gull, Rita Hansel, Althea Oldham and Ruth Jaquette.
Visitation was at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home where the rosary was said and scripture wake service was held on Tuesday.
Mrs. Duwe was a daughter of Christ Frommelt and Elizabeth Eilers Frommelt and was born in Guttenberg March 31, 1915. She was married at St. Mary's Church in Guttenberg May 13, 1948 to Raymond L. Duwe, who died July 5, 1979. Mrs. Duwe was Guttenberg city clerk for 17 years, and prior to that time was employed as bookkeeper for American Pearl Button Co. She had been deanery president of ACCW and was active in many organizations.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Mary) Lockhart of Dubuque and Mrs. Alan (Judy) Dohlman of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Claude "Bud" Frommelt of Guttenberg. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
