Mrs. Alvina M. Barnhart, 87, a resident of Riverview Care Center and formerly of Colesburg, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Care Center in Guttenberg.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Samuel Ervin at the United Methodist Church in Colesburg Saturday afternoon with burial in the Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Orville Putzier, Carson Barnhart, Larry Moser, Duane Behnken, Douglas Sadewasser and Tom McDowell.
Visitation was at the Tuecke Funeral Home in Guttenberg until 9 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. Barnhart was the daughter of Fred and Anna _uede (First letter unreadable.) Steinfadt and was born Dec. 27, 1890 in Elkport. She was married June 10, 1914 at Elkader to Harry Barnhart, who died July 15, 1967.
Surviving are one son, Lowell Barnhart of Guttenberg; six daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Kathleen) Royalty of Aurora, Ill., Mrs. Julius (Marjorie) Moser of Garnavillo, Mrs. Daniel (Ruth) Harbaugh of Edgewood, Mrs. Clark (Jeanne) Amsden of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Delos (Donna) Sadewasser of Guttenberg, and Mrs. James (Janice) Scherbring of Colesburg; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Dodge, Mrs. Tilly Behnken, and Laura Blaker, all of Colesburg; and three brothers, Art, Fred and Alvin Steinfadt, all of Colesburg.
