Anna M. Morarend died on July 28, 1983, at the age of 86 years. Funeral services were held Aug. 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garnavillo, with the Rev. William Runaas officiating.

Pallbearers were Steve Morarend, Kevin Morarend, Waldeen Taake, Donald Peuker, Kenneth Zanzie and Steve Smith.

Anna Morarend was born November 2, 1896. She married Clarence Morarend on February 24, 1916.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Waldo (Alo) Taake of Elkader, Mrs. Arleen Peuker of Mesa, Ariz.; one son, Earl Morarend; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
