Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Witt Funeral chapel and at two o'clock at the Norway church for Mrs. Seth Clark. Burial was made in the Clark family cemetery in Wagner township.
Casketbearers were L.J. Palas, George Ehrhardt, Geo. Taake, J.W. Downie, Geo. H. Schmidt and G.J. Graf. Flower girls were Rose Clark, Jean Clark, Ragna Embretson and Mary Graf, under the supervision of Mrs. G.H. Schmidt.
Anna Embretson Gronhoved was born in Wagner township, April 4, 1863. She was the daughter of Lars and Jorand Embretson Gronhoved. She died at her home in Elkader at four o'clock Saturday morning, May 30, 1942, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 26 days. Elkader has been her home since 1937 when she and Mr. Clark moved from the farm. She enjoyed good health until about six months ago when her health began to fail. For the last six weeks she was in bed quite helpless.
On January 27, 1887 she was married to Seth Clark. To this union three sons were born, namely, Joseph, who died in infancy, Alvin who died April 17, 1919, and Joel, who lives at home.
Mrs. Clark leaves to mourn, besides her husband, two brothers, Nels Embretson and Ole Embretson, both of St. Olaf, four grandchildren, namely Mae, now Mrs. Lawrence Jaster, Rose and Jean Clark of Elkaders, and Quinton Clark of Postville. There are also two great grandchildren, namely, Beverly Jean Jaster and Sheila Mae Clark.
Mrs. Clark was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Congregation by Rev. Ole Waldeland. she has always been a member of Norway Congregation and will be greatly missed by the local congregation, the Ladies' Aid, as well as the Norwegian Lutheran Church of America. Mrs. Clark was a home-loving woman, but also enjoyed her neighbors and community and will be greatly missed by them.
