Jacob Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.P. Clark, was born Dec. 30, 1853, and died Nov. 12, 1923.

He lived at the parental home until he was 28 years of age and on Jan. 10, 1877, was united in marriage to Caroline Larson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Larson, of Avoca, Wis. To this union ten children were born, of whom six survive him.

In 1881 the family moved to Hillsboro, N.D., where he farmed for two years, after which they returned to the old home to remain for another year. They then purchased the farm adjoining the old homestead where they lived for 18 years after which they sold and moved to Britt, Iowa, where he farmed for seven years.

In 1909 he located in the town of Britt, where he has resided since.

In September of this year he came back to visit his brother Seth, and remained here until his death. His health had been failing for a number of years. On October 29, he was taken sick and passed away Nov. 12 at midnight.

He belonged to the W.B. church here and at Britt to the M.E. church. His wife and six children survive him - five boys and one girl.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon, with Rev. W.J. Warner officiating, assisted by the choir of the local Congregational church. Interment was made in the private family lot.
