Carson Lee Barnhart, 60, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg, after a long illness.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg, where the family received friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.

Funeral services were at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1. Rev. Harold McMillin officiated.

Interment was at Guttenberg City Cemetery in Guttenberg. Casket bearers were Dirk Moser, Doug Sadewasser, Jeff Marovets, Larry Smith, Lonnie Hanson, and John Kochendorfer. Honorary bearers were Dale Cain, Delos Sadewasser, Wes Bohlen, Louis Kochendorfer, Dennis Reth, Jim Scherbring, Art Tomkins, Chad Scherbring, Larkin Rutledge, John Cain, Jeff Cain, Bill Sherman, Oscar Kottke, Steve Amsden, and Larry Moser.

Carson was born the son of Lowell and Edith (Latteyer) Barnhart, on Aug. 9, 1944, on the family farm near Colesburg. He graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1962; served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam; and worked for the Ertl Toy Co. for 31 years. On May 4, 1968, he was united in marriage with Jeneen Jost at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. He enjoyed working on cars, tractors and fixing things of all kinds, visiting with friends, and was a member of the American Legion Post 373.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeneen; mother-in-law, Pearl Jost of Guttenberg; aunts, and uncle, Ruth Harbaugh of Edgewood, Jeanne Amsden of Shellsburg, Donna and Delos Sadewasser of Guttenberg and Jim and Janice Scherbring of Colesburg, many cousins and friends.

He was preceded by his parents.
