Elkader Register, Thur., 26 July 1888.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kann mourn the loss of their youngest child, James Jerome, aged 5 months and (Looks like 20) days, who died on Thursday morning of last week after a prolonged sickness.

The funeral took place on Friday last and was largely attended by sympathizing friends and relatives of the family. Brief services were held at the Catholic church in this place, after which the little one's remains were taken to Garnavillo and interred in the Catholic cemetery at that place.
