Mrs. Clarence (Milfred Garlow) Peterson, 68, died in Moline Public Hospital, Moline, Ill., December 19, 1979. She was buried in Bethel Cemetery Osterdock, Iowa, December 21, 1979 at 1 p.m. Martin Osterloh conducted graveside services.

Milfred Garlow was born May 3, 1911 in Elkader, Iowa, to Frank and Mary (Hunt) Garlow and received her education in the Elkader schools later moving to Dubuque.

April 19, 1930 she married Cecil Millhone and they had two sons, Douglas Arthur and Jay Allen. January 28, 1939 she married Clarence Peterson in Moline, Ill., and has resided there the past 40 years.

In addition to her children, two brothers survive her, Carl Garlow of South St. Paul, Minn., and Maynard Garlow of Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by Cecil Millhone, her parents, four brothers, Earl of Dubuque, Ace and Arthur (twins) and Paul all of Rock Island, Ill., and one sister, Amber Muller, also of Rock Island, Ill. Her husband, Clarence, passed away December 20, 1979, and was buried December 22, 1979, at Riverside Cemetery in Moline, Ill.

A card of thanks was signed by Vera Rottman, niece of Milfred Peterson.

There was a second card of thanks signed by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Peterson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Peterson and family, Miss Mavis Peterson, and Miss Ruth Peterson. This card of thanks notes that it is for the loss of their mother (unnamed). It is possible there was a second Mrs. Peterson who had died about the same time period. The relationships of these Peterson family members to Milfred Peterson, if any, is unknown.
