Elkader- Bena Lauer Asmus, 86, died Thursday in Central Community Hospital after a long illness. Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Peace United Church of Christ. Burial: East Side Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Leonard-Witt Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Henry; a daughter, Helen Patrick of St. Olaf; and a sister, Vera Krutsinger of Tipton.
