It becomes our sad duty to chronical the death of George Woodall, which occurred in this place at about four o'clock in the afternoon of October 23, of pneumonia after an illness of six days. Deceased was born in Walverhampton, England, on August 29th, 1834, and was therefore sixty years, one month and twenty-four days of age. He received an excellant education in the schools of Liverpool, after which he learned the trade of gas fitter. When a young man he emigrated to Peru, South America, where he plied his trade for a number of years in several principalities of that country. He returned to England for a short time and from there came to this country, landing in Boston, where he worked at his trade for some time and it was there that he was married, after which he with his wife returned to Liverpool, where he continued to reside until the death of his wife, which occurred August 29th, 1884. After his wife's death he returned to this country, where he has since remained, spending the last two years and four months of his life in this place with his cousin, W. G. Woodall. The funeral occurred October 25th, Rev. E. D. Gifford officiating. His remains were laid to rest at Mt. Harmony cemetery by the side of his uncle and aunt. He leaves three brothers residing in England, one of them, William Woodall, is a member of the English parliament. Deceased was loved and esteemed by all who knew him and died without an enemy in the world.
