The funeral of Mrs. O.W. May was held last Thursday afternoon, September 23, at the Congregational church, Rev. C.H. True having charge of the service. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Edgewood cemetery, a large number of sorrowing friends following them to their last resting place.

Mrs. May was a resident of this vicinity for a large number of years and had many warm friends who are sad at her departure. She was a consistent Christian lady and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church ever since girlhood and has done a great deal of good to humanity during all these years.

Orinda W. Randall was born October 23, 1833, at Norwich, Chenango county, New York. On the 15th day of March, 1854, she was married to Truman Noble and to this union were born tow sons, Ira F. Noble of Graettinger, Iowa and Evlon L. Noble of this place.

Her husband died August 29, 1862, and in 1872 she was again united in marriage to Samuel May who passed away several years ago. Mrs. May was 81 years, 10 months and 28 days of age at the time of her death.

The deceased and her husband came from the east in 1856 and settled near Yankee Settlement in Delaware county and since which time she has resided in this immediate community.

The Journal can say of the deceased that she was a noble woman and feels a personal loss in her death.
