George Washington Halley was born in West Virginia Nov. 13, 1835, and died in Monona July 4, 1911, aged 75 years, 7 months and 21 days.
In 1854 he moved to National, where he lived four years. In 1859 he married Elizabeth Siglin and moved to Farmersburg.
Three children were born of this marriage, 2 girls and a boy. One girl, Florence, died when 4 years old. The other daughter, Georgiana, married Ellsworth Brown and lives at St. Joseph. The son, William, married Myrtle Clark of National, and lives in Charles City.
The deceased lived 25 years in Farmersburg, moving 27 years ago to Monona, where he has lived ever since. He has been helpless for some time.
A short funeral service was conducted by Rev. W.E. King at the house and the remains were carried to Farmersburg for burial.
