Herman Knuth accompanied his nephew, William Knuth of St. Olaf, to Minneapolis Wednesday to visit the latter's brother, Edmund, who has been seriously ill for some time at a hospital. He passed away a few hours after they started for home on Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Knuth, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Knuth and children, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Knuth, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Knuth and daughter Lorene, and Mr. and Mrs. Arno Kliefoth attended the funeral of their nephew and cousin, Edmund Knuth, at St. Olaf Sunday.

The funeral of Ed Knuth was very largely attended Sunday. Mr. Knuth passed away at the Army Hospital at Minneapolis, where he had been a patient for a long time. He was an over-seas veteran and the effect of the war was the cause of his death. He was laid to rest in the Farmersburg Cemetery with military honors. Rev. Tysdal officiated.

Edmund Henry Knuth died at the U. S. Veterans hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., on October 26, 1927. He was born august 21, 1895, at Clayton Center. He was drafted for service in the World War in April 25, 1918, and served in Company F, 315 Engineers 90th Div. A.E.F. After being overseas fourteen months, he was honorably discharged on June 26th, 1919. On September 11, 1920, he was united in marriage with Margaret Smith.

He was taken sick in January, 1925. In June he was taken to Iowa City, and in August he was transferred to the U.S. Veterans hospital, No. 68, at Minneapolis. He remained there until his death on Oct. 26, 1927.

He leaves to mourn his wife, his mother, three sisters, Mrs. August Kirscht, Mrs. Jacob Steen and Mrs. Norbert Nieland, and two brothers, Arthur and William.

Military services were held in the St. Olaf chapel and interment was at the cemetery between Farmersburg and St. Olaf. Rev. T. W. Tysdal officiated.
