Garber- James L. "Jim" Zearley, 81, died Thursday at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood, after a sudden illness. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are a daughter, Verla Wessel of Edgewood; two sons, Carl and Lewis, both of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Ray of Guttenberg; 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Sunday, St. John's Congregational Church. Burial: Hansel Cemetery, rural Garber. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn's, Guttenberg.
