Elkader- Services for John Henry Hook, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev. Paul Kitterer will officiate. Burial will be in the Farmersburg Cemetery.

The body will be taken from the Witt Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday to the church, where it will lie in state until funeral time.

Mr. Hook died Thursday in his home.

He was born here Dec. 26, 1771 (1871), the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hook and was a life long resident of the community. In 1902 he married Jennie Kluth, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Oct. 14, 1952.

Survivors are his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (her given name looks like Dillia) Jones of Elkader. He was preceded by a son.
