MRS. SAMUEL M. DAVIS
Mrs. Samuel M. Davis, 74, died at her home in Nora Springs, Iowa, Tuesday, Dec. 14, from a heart attack following several days illness with flu. Funeral services were held at the Shackler funeral home at Nora Springs Friday, the Rev. Davies of the Methodist church officiating.
Mrs. Davis, the former Doris Heckmaster, was born in Elkader, Jan. 11, 1869, the daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina Heckmaster. In December, 1898, she was married to Samuel M. Davis of National, who preceded her in death Jan. 1, 1940.
Survivors are two sons, Morton of Nora Springs and Donald, who lives on the farm near Nora Springs; two daughters, Miss Fern Davis of Council Bluffs and Mrs. C. G. Laird of Reno, Nev.; three sisters, Miss Julia Heckmaster and Mrs. Mina Williamson of Elkader and Mrs. Lottie Mickelson of Canton, S. D.; one brother, Charles A. Heckmaster of Long Beach, Calif., and two grandchildren.
