Mertie Harriet Rickert, daughter of Frederick and Esther Schmidt was born June 15, 1891, on a farm near Strawberry Point, Iowa. She passed away at home Saturday evening, November 18, 1972 at the age of 81 years.

She was united in marriage to Ernest Rickert, February 14, 1917 at Strawberry Point. To this union one daughter, Erma, was born. She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Realto (Erma) Wold of Edgewood; two brothers, Ralph and Floyd Schmidt of Strawberry Point; one granddaughter, Joanne Wold.

Services were held at the Appleton Funeral Home on Tuesday November 21, 1972, at 1:30. Rev. Thomas Lentz officiated at the service. Mrs. Eugene Schultz sang "Abide With Me" accompanied on the organ by Gladys Holthaus.

Casket bearers were Oliver Jewell, Duane Weyant, Leroy Glawe, Lowell Rowell, Joe Burgin and Fern Weyant. Burial was in the Noble Cemetery.
